Rachel Billing Blog: Michael Jackson Bus Concert

Our weekend on the road started off slower than we had hoped as we headed up north last Friday morning to play the Hillsdale Chargers, the eleventh ranked team in the nation. We hung with them, but lost the match in three sets.

From Hillsdale, we headed to Detroit later that night to take on our next opponent, Wayne State. We were all a little upset about the game, and due to a lack of movie choices, whether by luck or mere coincidence we jumped on the perfect opportunity to watch Michael Jackson’s Dangerous Tour to help lift our spirits. Although most of the team slept the whole way there, we still managed to have a nice little concert by some of our very own. Saturday morning, the team roughed the streets of Detroit and ventured to the Liddane residence for a lovely pregame dinner. Following some football and team bonding, we rallied against the Warriors but just couldn’t quite get the job done and fell in three sets.

After a good night’s sleep in our own beds, we woke up Sunday ready to break through with a win at Findlay. Despite dropping the first set, we weren’t ready to back down. We were all definitely looking for a win to finish the weekend, and for most of us Findlay is by far our biggest rivals. We kept our heads focused on every point and came out on top, winning the match 3-1.
