BAY CITY, Mich. – Ohio Dominican's football team was selected to finish fourth in the GLIAC South Division, as voted on by the conference's 14 head coaches.
In just their second season in the GLIAC, the Panthers earned 38 points in the preseason poll. Defending South Division champion Wayne State picked up 10 first place votes and 80 points, followed by Ashland (four first place votes, 73 points) and Hillsdale (66 points).
ODU was slotted fourth, with Findlay and Lake Erie tied for fifth with 36 points and Tiffin seventh with 13 points.
Grand Valley State was projected to win the North Division, picking up 85 points.
The Panthers return 47 letterwinners from 2010, which resulted in a fifth-place finish in the South in their inaugural season as GLIAC members. All 11 eleven starters are back on the offensive side of the ball, while the defense returns seven starters.
Ohio Dominican will play three intrasquad scrimmages leading up to the season opener against Saint Joseph's (Ind.) at noon on Sept. 3 in Panther Field. The dates of the scrimmages are tentatively set for Aug. 21, Aug. 23 and Aug. 27.
