Following a long playing career in the NFL, Arena Football League and NFL Europe, Winfield Garnett enters his third year on the ODU staff working with the defensive line.

Garnett, a defensive tackle at Ohio State, played professionally from 1998-2008, including stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings.

He was named to the All-NFL Europe team in 2001 playing with the Amsterdam Admirals and was recognized in 2007 as a member of the All-Ironman Team while playing with the Grand Rapids Rampage in the AFL.
