Scott McIntire enters his second year as ODU’s offensive line coach.
Last year, the offensive line helped guide the Panthers to the third-best scoring total in the GLIAC, averaging 31.9 points per game, and ODU was also the third-best rushing offense in the conference and 27th in the nation at 211.7 yards per game. The Panthers rewrote the school rushing record book last year as the offensive line remained intact for all 11 game.
McIntire spent 29 years as a high school football coach, leading his team to 11 conference championships and 11 playoff appearances. He was the head coach at Grove City High School for five years, leading the Greyhounds to a pair of postseason trips and an Ohio Capital Conference Central Division crown. He also served as the offensive coordinator at Grove City for 17 years, where he coached Derek Combs, the 1996 Mr. Football recipient who went on to play with Ohio State, the Oakland Raiders and the Green Bay Packers. Eight offensive linemen earned All-Ohio accolades under his tutelage as well.
McIntire then spent three seasons as the offensive line coach at Capital University from 2008-10, helping the Crusaders to become one of the most prolific offenses in the OAC during that stretch.
McIntire graduated from Muskingum College in 1979, where he played football with ODU assistant coach Jack Ruetty.
