KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team had five players announced to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2017-18 Honors Court on Tuesday.
Junior Ben Casanova, a finance major, Adam Cytlak, a senior majoring in biology, senior Mike DeLeon and junior Ryan Hoyng both majoring in Finance/Accounting and Alex Stevens a senior computer science and software engineering major were named to the Honors Court by the NABC.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. To qualify an athlete must be academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year, must have been a part of the institution for at least one year, and be a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
Ohio Dominican ended the year with a 20-11 over record, winning the G-MAC conference tournament title, and earning their first ever trip to the NKanCAA Tournament.
