INDIANAPOLIS – Junior Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) of Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team was named the Great Midwest Player of the Week for the second time this season.
The junior forward notched a pair of double-doubles as he averaged 23.5 points per game and 14.5 rebounds per game which including an average of 5.5 offensive rebounds and nine defensive rebounds.
In his 60 minutes played, Varence finished the week shooting 19-of-32 (59.4%) and 5-of-8 from behind the arc (62.5%).
In the 85-78 win at Alderson Broaddus, Varence scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds while in the 117-82 win over Davis & Elkins, the Queens, New York native scored 26 points on 11-for-18 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Varence and the rest of the Panthers have a pair of home contests against Findlay and Hillsdale this week.
