Men's Golf Holds Third Place After Day One of the Cedarville Fall Invitational

XENIA, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's golf team holds third place after shooting 309 on day one of the Cedarville Fall Invitational Monday at the Country Club of the North in Xenia, Ohio.

McKendree holds the lead after shooting 301 on day one and ODU trails second place Ohio Valley by just one stroke heading into day to. Cedarville who shot 315 and Wittenberg who shot 316 round out the top five teams.

Chris Eigner of Wittenberg leads the field after shooting 70 (-2) on day one in a spitting rain.

Leading the way for the Panthers was senior Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) who posted a first round of 76 where he was tied for second in the field in par-3 scoring going even par on those 4 holes.

Junior Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) posted an opening round 77 to place tied for 10th where he was tied for second in par-4 scoring where he went +1 over those 12 holes.

Freshman Ben Herman (Germantown, Ohio) continued his strong play as he posted a 78 t place in a tie for 13th as he had 10 pars in his round.

Fellow freshman Robert Holden (Hertfordshire, England) and Dalton Crowley (Nashport, Ohio) matched Herman with rounds of 78 where they are also tied for 13th.  

Crowley and fellow freshman Alex Heban (Toledo, Ohio) led the field in par-5 scoring shooting -3 on the four holes. Heban posted a round of 79 to sit in a tie for 19th after day one.

Freshman Brandon Wehrle (Findlay, Ohio) and junior Jack Casebolt (Pickerington, Ohio) each posted rounds of 83 to place themselves in a tie for 36th.

Rounding out the Panther team was freshman Trace Thomas (Hamilton, Ohio) and sophomore Jonathan Dill (Sedalia, Ohio) who posted first round scores of 93 and 98.

Round two of the Cedarville Fall Invitational will tee off at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Country Club of the North.
