Pardi Celebrates Great Midwest Defensive Player Of The Week Award

INDIANAPOLIS — After assisting in anchoring a defensive unit that preserved two shutout wins over Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene last week, Ohio Dominican sophomore defender Matthew Pardi (Worthington, Ohio) earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference defensive player of the week honors, the conference announced Tuesday.

Pardi started both matches and played all 180 minutes at defender in wins over KWC and TNU, helping to limit both squads to a combined seven shots on goal. In just two seasons with ODU, Pardi has started in 27 matches at defender while also tallying two goals and one assist. The sophomore has been a major part of Ohio Dominican's six-match win streak, its longest since the 2007 season. During the span, Ohio Dominican has outscored its opponents by a 15-3 margin with four shutouts in its last six contests.

The Panthers will look forward to competition in the Great Midwest Athletic Conferernce Tournament quarterfinals this Saturday.
