Carvalho, Badowski Earn All-GLIAC Honors

Bay City, Michigan - Frehman Igor Carvalho (Belem, Brazil) and junior Claude Badowski (Oundle, England) of Ohio Dominican's men's tennis team were recently selected to the 2011 All-GLIAC team, released recently by the conference office. 

Carvalho, a second team All-GLIAC selection, held down the #1 position for the Panthers after a strong fall performance at the ITA Midwest Regional. Carvalho and Greg Dillon (Sr./Fort Wayne, IN) upset the #4 seed, Drury, eventually losing in the quarterfinals to eventual champion Rockhurst University. Teaming this spring with fellow Brazilian, Bernardo Feitosa (Jr./Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) at #1 doubles, Carvalho finished 7-5 overall and 6-3 in GLIAC play.

Badowski, a honorable mention selection, finished his third year with the Panthers playing #2 singles. Claude finished 3-6 in GLIAC play, and 8-15 overall. Badowski also went 6-3 in GLIAC action at #3 doubles, partnering with Conrad Klank (Sr./Dayton, OH), finishing with an overall record of 13-12 on the season.

ODU finished their first season in Division II play with a 9-11 record and a 4-5 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
