FINDLAY, Ohio – Following Ohio Dominican's opening round contest with Northwood this morning, the GLIAC League Office recognized five Panthers on the 2013 All-GLIAC Softball teams, as voted by the conference coaches in ballot format.
Junior Caitlin Jividen (Wheeling, W. Va.) and sophomores Rachael Stanzel (Angleton, Texas) and Alex Cribari (Lyndhurst, Ohio) garnered Second Team honors. Freshman Elisabeth Weber (Canton, Ohio) and sophomore Taylor Thomas (Bellville, Ohio) collected Honorable Mention honors.
Jividen, who is on a four-game hitting streak, leads the team in batting average (.349), doubles (12) and is second on the team with an on base percentage of .405. She has batted in 21 RBI to go along with her three homeruns. In the field, Jividen has only committed nine errors in 50 games for a fielding percentage of .955.
Stanzel, who earned honorable mention honors last season, currently owns a record of 15-14 with an ERA of 2.69. In the GLIAC, Stanzel has an ERA of 1.96, ranking her fifth among her counterparts. She is third in innings pitched at 100 and eighth in batting average against at .228. Her 13 complete games in the GLIAC rank her second.
Cribari, who was named as the GLIAC Freshman of the Year last season, is third on the team in batting average, hitting .277 on the season. She is second on the Panther squad in doubles, notching 11 thus far. On the season, Cribari has batted in 16 RBI and has recorded one triple and two homeruns.
Thomas is second on the team in batting average, hitting a solid .324 with a team-high 30 RBI. Thomas also leads all Panthers in homeruns (7), triples, (2), and walks with 18. She has an on base percentage of .425 and a slugging percentage of .559. Defensively, Thomas has only committed six errors between splitting her time between first and third base, posting a fielding percentage of .981.
In her first season as a Panther, Weber has started in 47 games with a batting average of .300. She has recorded 17 RBI and has walked 15 times. Weber currently has a slugging percentage of .300 in the GLIAC and an overall on base percentage of .362. Primarily playing center field, Weber has a fielding percentage of 1.000.
