INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Ohio Dominican's softball team fell to Indianapolis in a pair of contests on Wednesday by final scores of 4-1 and 6-0.
In game one on Wednesday, the Panthers recorded one run on eight hits, also holding the Greyhounds to eight hits for the contest.
Senior Kelly Wallace (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) recorded her 11th multi-hit game of the season, finishing 2-for-4 with one RBI, while six additional Panthers recorded one hit in the contest for ODU. Sophomore pitcher Abby Lamping (Cleves, Ohio) went six innings in the circle, striking out three.
ODU trailed 4-0 in the top of the fifth with one out when a double by junior Taylor Kline (Bellville, Ohio) gave Ohio Dominican a runner in scoring position. In the next at bat, Wallace singled to center field, scoring Kline and cutting the Panther deficit to just 4-1. But the Greyhounds held the Panthers scoreless for the remainder of the contest to earn the win, 4-1.
In game two, Indianapolis defeated Ohio Dominican by a final tally of 6-0. Wallace finished with a hit for the 12th time in the last 14 games, while freshman Taylor Farmer (Mt. Blanchard, Ohio) also finished with one hit for the Panthers.
ODU will look forward to its first home contests of the season on Friday and Saturday, as the squad prepares to host Grand Valley State in a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 2 p.m., and Ferris State on Saturday with contests starting at 11 a.m. at Panther Field.
