Kline, Wallace Garner First Team All-GLIAC Honors; Murdoch Named To Second Team For Softball

FINDLAY, Ohio — Ohio Dominican junior shortstop Taylor Kline (Bellville, Ohio) and senior catcher Kelly Wallace (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) were named to the 2017 All-GLIAC First Team, while senior first baseman Casey Murdoch (Morrow, Ohio) earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors, the conference announced Saturday.

Kline batted .427 in the regular season while leading the GLIAC in stolen bases with 37. A three-time First Team All-GLIAC selection, Kline boasts a career-batting average of .434 with 105 stolen bases.

Also earning first team honors was Wallace, who hit a career-high .373 this season with four home runs and her 37 RBIs in 2017 ranked third in the GLIAC. Wallace earned First Team All-GLIAC honors in 2015 and boasts 84 RBIs in her Panther career.

Murdoch was named to the Second Team All-GLIAC as a first baseman, where she batted a career-high .313 this season with 22 RBIs and 14 doubles. Murdoch holds a career batting average of .271 with 68 RBIs.

Sophomore pitcher Abby Lamping (Cleves, Ohio) and junior Liz Sutter (Mansfield, Ohio) garnered Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors for ODU. Lamping recorded an ERA of 2.53 in 2017 with 12 wins and 18 complete games. Sutter batted a career-high .322 this season with seven stolen bases and notched a career-high 46 hits on the season.

Ohio Dominican finished the regular season at 27-21 (14-8) and ended the regular season in fourth place in the GLIAC standings. The Panthers face Ashland on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the first round of the GLIAC Softball Tournament.
