COLUMBUS, Ohio — Following a strong outing at the GVSU Big Meet, Ohio Dominican's track & field team will be in action on Friday, February 16 at the Buckeye Tune Up on the campus of The Ohio State University and the Findlay Meet For Everyone at the University of Findlay.
Five student-athletes on Ohio Dominican's track & field team will compete at the Buckeye Tune Up, with another 30 Panthers competing at the Findlay Meet For Everyone. The Buckeye Tune Up will start with field events that are set to begin at 4 p.m., with track events scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start. The Findlay Meet For Everyone begins at 4 p.m. with field events, then running starting at 5:30 p.m.
ODU's track & field squad has experienced a strong indoor season thus far. The Panthers have set eight indoor school records, along with 34 top five individual finishes. As a team, the Panthers have placed in the top five as a team five times.
The Panthers are coming off a great weekend at Grand Valley State, where they achieved multiple school records at the GVSU Big Meet. Senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) notched school records in the 800 with a time of 1:53.77 and in the 400 with a time of 49.09, placing 5th place out of 67 runners. Sophomore Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio) notched a jump of 1.63 meters in the women's high jump finals, which was good enough for a second place finish in a field of 20. The men's 4x400m relay team of Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio), Carroll, Avery Sumpter (Lima, Ohio), and Amir Metts (Cincinnati, Ohio) also recorded an indoor school record with a time of 3:17.40.
