FINDLAY, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's track & field team competed at the Findlay Meet for Everyone on Friday evening, one week prior to the 2018 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships.
Notching the fastest men's mile time of the season for the Panthers was senior Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio), who took fourth place out of 28 competitors with a run of 4:29.36.
Earning a top five finish in the men's 800 was junior Bobby Bogantz (Sunbury, Ohio), who crossed the finish line in 1:59.43 to finish in fifth place out of 21 runners.
Sophomore Shaunqueza Stevens (Dublin, Ohio) notched the second-fastest women's 60 meter dash time of the season for ODU, crossing the finish line in 8.20 during qualifying. She went on to take fifth place in the 60 meter finals with a sprint of 8.21.
Sophomore Bryanna Barber (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) finished just off her season-best time of 27.06 in the women's 200 with a mark of 27.08 to take ninth out of 26.
In the field for the men, junior Clayton Seymour (Ashville, Ohio) notched a 12th place finish out of 41 competitors in the shot put with a throw of 13.43 meters. He also led the Panthers in the men's weight throw with a mark of 13.60 meters to place 14th out of 36. His distance of 13.60 meters in the event is the second-best weight throw of the indoor season for ODU.
Freshman Pasha Rivers (Dublin, Ohio) led the Ohio Dominican women's throwers with marks of 10.47 meters in the shot put and 11.28 meters in the weight throw.
Ohio Dominican will look forward to competition in the Great Midwest Championships at Hillsdale College next weekend.
