COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's track and field team will travel to Denison University in Granville, Ohio for the Big Red Invitational this Friday, April 27.
Field events are set to begin at 1:30 p.m., while running events will start at 6 p.m.
This meet marks the seventh outdoor competition of 2018 for the Panthers, who are coming off a strong performance at the Otterbein Twilight Invitational this past weekend. They saw six school records fall with the men's team taking third place overall.
Senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) bested his own outdoor school records in the men's 800 and 1500. Megan Tamasovich(Canal Winchester, Ohio) notched the best women's long jump in school history while also breaking the women's outdoor record in the 400 hurdles. Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio) topped the men's 400 hurdles record time, and Alex Botello (Hilliard, Ohio) improved on his school record mark in the men's pole vault.
Finishing with season best times, as well as accomplishing two second place finishes was Amir Metts (Cincinnati, Ohio), who finished in the top two of both the men's 100 and 200 meter dashes. In the field for the men, Clayton Seymour (Ashville, Ohio) threw a season-best distance of 45.11 meters in the discus to place second in the event.
Recording her 11th and 12th top five finishes of the outdoor season was Bryanna Barber (Reynoldsburg, Ohio), taking fifth in the women's 200 at 26.21 and fourth in the 100 with a personal best sprint of 12.61.
Both the Panther men and women have finished in the top 10 of every meet this outdoor season, with the men recording back-to-back top five team finishes.
After competing at the Big Red Invitational, the Panthers will travel to Hillsdale for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, May 3-5.
