Track & Field Set To Compete In Great Midwest Outdoor Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's track and field team will compete in the 2018 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at the Ken Herrick Track at Hillsdale College on Thursday, May 3, Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5.

Competition will begin on Thursday with the men's pentathlon at 1:30 p.m. and the women's heptathlon at 2 p.m. On Friday, running events begin at 2:30 p.m. with the women's 4x100 meter prelim. The following day running events will begin at 12:10 p.m. with the women's 4x100 meter relay final.

Overall, 30 Panthers will be competing throughout the weekend. Senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) has led the men's side, recording three school records this outdoor season. He currently boasts the second-fastest 800 time (1:53.02) and 400 (48.37) time in the G-MAC.

Sophomore Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio) has led the way for the women's side, establishing the women's indoor school record in the high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters. She holds the second-highest jump in the conference.

The Panthers have also seen great performances from their 4x100 meter relay teams. Sophomore Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio) Amir Metts (Cincinnati, Ohio), Cam Brandon (Cleveland, Ohio) and , Avery Sumpter (Lima, Ohio), currently have the fastest time in the Great Midwest of 42.10.

On the women's side, the 4x100 meter relay team of Dominique Washington (Gahanna, Ohio)Bryanna Barber (Reynoldsburg, Ohio)Shaunqueza Stevens (Dublin, Ohio) and Imani Stepney (Columbus, Ohio) has the fourth-fastest time in the conference with a mark of 49.10.
