COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team is back on the road for games at Cedarville and Tiffin this week.
The Panthers secured a 79-71 victory over Trevecca in their most recent game on Saturday, giving head coach Lynsey Warren her 100th career win. She has the third-most wins in ODU history and third-best win percentage (.549).
ODU enters the week sitting in fifth in the G-MAC with a 7-4 conference mark (10-7 overall). Thursday's opponent, Cedarville, is atop the conference standings at 14-3 (10-1 G-MAC), while the Dragons are 5-12 (2-9 G-MAC).
The Panthers shot 50.9 percent from the field in the win over Trevecca, their fourth-best mark of the season. ODU knocked down 12 treys, tied for their third-most in a game this season, and it's the fourth time in the last five games that the Panthers have hit at least 10 triples. ODU is shooting 38 percent from behind the arc in January, averaging 10 made threes per game.
Success from beyond the arc has been crucial to the Panthers this season. In ODU's 10 wins, the Panthers are averaging 9.8 made threes on 43.9 percent shooting. In the seven losses, ODU has made 4.3 threes per game on 22.4 percent shooting.
Angela Troyer is averaging 15.6 points per game on 49.2 percent shooting in January, while freshman Kennedy Schlabach is averaging 13.4 points per game this month, shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from deep.
Alexa Fisher is averaging 13.4 points and pulling down 6.8 rebounds while handing out 4.6 assists per contest in the last five games.
ODU has a 4-3 record against Cedarville in its Division II era. The Yellow Jackets won two close games last year, a 72-70 decision in Alumni Hall and a 93-88 contest at Cedarville.
ODU has a 9-5 record against Tiffin dating back to 2010. The Panthers have won eight of the last nine meetings with the Dragons, including a 78-70 road victory in the last meeting on Feb. 4, 2017.
