INDIANAPOLIS – After stuffing the stat sheet in Ohio Dominican's two games last week, sophomore guard Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) was tabbed as the G-MAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
Troyer averaged 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game, shooting 18-of-28 (64.3 percent) from the field and 6-of-8 (75.0 percent) from the three-point line. She also blocked two shots as well.
She started the week with her third double-double of the season, going for 20 points and 10 rebounds at Lake Erie on Thursday. Troyer made 8-of-12 shots from the field in that contest.
She followed that performance with another terrific effort in helping lead the Panthers' wild comeback at Ursuline on Saturday. Troyer hit 10-of-16 from the field (5-of-6 from behind the arc) for 25 points while registering nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals as the Panthers stormed back from a 55-35 halftime deficit to win 104-90 in overtime.
Troyer now has seven 20-plus point efforts on the season while scoring in double figures in six of the last seven games. Her 10 field goal makes at Ursuline were a career-high, and it was her second-best scoring performance of her career as well.
Ohio Dominican takes on Alderson Broaddus in Phillipi, W. Va., at 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
