COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior guard Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) and sophomore guard Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) were recognized by the league's head coaches as Second Team All-Great Midwest picks on Thursday.
Fisher closed the season averaging 13.8 points, 3.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game, along with 1.7 steals per contest. She ranks fifth in the league in assists and three-pointers made, sixth in scoring, ninth in steals and fourth in minutes played.
Fisher hit game-winning shots in victories at Saginaw Valley and Ohio Valley this season and scored in double figures 20 times. She also had 16 games with three or more assists. For her career at ODU, she's averaging 13.5 points per game, having tallied 782 points over the past two seasons. She was named the G-MAC Player of the Week on Nov. 26 after wins at Northwood and Saginaw.
Troyer averaged 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest, shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from deep. She sits fourth in the G-MAC in field goal percentage, ninth in scoring and steals, 10th in rebounding and third in minutes played.
She recorded double figures in scoring in 18 games and had three double-doubles on the season. Troyer set a career-high with 27 points at home against Ursuline and was named the G-MAC Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after going for 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals in games at Lake Erie and Ursuline.
Ohio Dominican closed the season with a 15-14 record, earning the No. 7 seed in the G-MAC Tournament. The Panthers have won at least 15 games in four straight years.
