Panthers Claim Ninth Place in Fall Finale
FINDLAY, Ohio - With a two-day total of 686 (342-344), the Ohio Dominican women's golf team concluded the fall portion of the season with a ninth place showing Monday at the Bing Beall Fall Classic, hosted by Findlay at the Findlay CC.
The Panthers nipped Madonna (Mich.) by two strokes for ninth and were beaten out for eighth by Concord (W. Va.) by five strokes. The team crown went to Grand Valley State (Mich.) with a combined score of 625, five strokes clear of second place California (Pa.).
Freshman Danielle Misencik (Concord, OH) was the top finisher for ODU in a tie for 34th with a two-round score of 167, including a career low 81 in the final round. Senior Sarah Vonderembse (Lima, OH) and sophomore Ashley Swartz (Lima, OH) finished together with totals of 174 in a tie for 50th, while junior Amanda Costanzo (Silver Lake, OH) was one stroke back following rounds of 86, 89.
With the fall season complete, ODU is back on course next March 15 and 16 as it hosts the Harmony Match Play Challenge at Harmony Golf Preserve in Harmony, Florida.
