Panthers Women’s Soccer Collects OCSA Accolades

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A pair of Ohio Dominican women's soccer players were recently selected to the 2010 Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Division II/NAIA All-Ohio Teams.

Sophomore forward Jennifer Holton (Johnstown, OH) took home First Team All-Ohio honors, while senior goalkeeper Aimee Simonet (New Albany, OH) earned Second Team praise.

Holton, a Second Team All-GLIAC selection, led the Panthers in goals (7), points (17), shots on goal (27) and game-winning goals (4). She was second on the squad with three assists and 40 shots and also finished 10th in the conference in goals and points and ranked fifth in game-winners.

Simonet, also a Second Team All-GLIAC honoree, tied the ODU all-time record for shutouts in a season with eight, while posting a 9-4-3 record last year. The eight shutouts ranked second-most in the conference, while her goals against average of .85 ranked third and her .816 saves percentage was fifth best.

Three Panthers were also selected to the OCSA Academic All-Ohio Teams. Simonet (3.66 GPA - Sport Management) earned Division II/NAIA First Team honors, while senior midfielder Anna Cameron (3.48 GPA - Political Science) and junior forward Kaylin Hunsaker (3.87 GPA - Education) each collected Second Team accolades.

ODU concluded their inaugural season in the GLIAC with an overall mark of 11-4-3 for their fourth straight season of at least 10 wins or more. With a conference mark of 7-4-3, the Panthers finished in a tie for second in the South Division, five points behind leader Tiffin.
