CEDARVILLE, Ohio — A hat trick by senior forward Alli Pavlik (Cortland, Ohio) powered Ohio Dominican women's soccer to a 3-1 win at Cedarville on Thursday Night at the Yellow Jacket Soccer Complex at Cedarville University.
The Panthers (6-2, 4-0 G-MAC) have won four matches in a row, marking the longest win streak for ODU since 2014. Ohio Dominican has won six of its last seven overall and remains unbeaten in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
Pavlik notched the 15th hat trick in ODU women's soccer history and the first since 2011. Junior Abby Tamm (Fairfeild Township, Ohio), juniors Jenna Fodor (Hilliard, Ohio) and Susan D'Isidoro (Twinsburg, Ohio) and sophomore Cheyenne Story (Canfield, Ohio) all recorded assists in the win.
Ohio Dominican struck first in the 31st minute when a cross by Tamm found Pavlik to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
ODU increased its advantage to 2-0 in the 59th minute on a free kick from Story. Fodor was able to get a piece of Story's boot and deflect it to Pavlik, who put the ball to the back of the net for her second score of the night.
Cedarville cut its deficit to 2-1 in the 67th minute following a penalty kick, but Pavlik and the Panthers would not let their lead slip away. Pavlik completed the hat trick in the 81st minute after a long, through ball from D'Isidoro allowed her to collect the pass in scoring position and score her third goal of the night, putting the match out of reach from the Yellow Jackets, 3-1.
Ohio Dominican sits atop the Great Midwest standings going into a road match with second-place Ohio Valley on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
