COLUMBUS, Ohio — Coming off its fifth shutout win of the season and 10th victory of 2017, Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team will welcome Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene this week to Panther Stadium for Great Midwest Athletic Conference matches.
ODU will take on Kentucky Wesleyan at 5 p.m. and will face Trevecca at 12 p.m. on senior day at Panther Stadium.
About Ohio Dominican
The Panthers (10-4-1, 8-2-1 G-MAC) defeated Lake Erie by a final tally of 3-0 on Saturday and currently sit second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings with 25 points. Ohio Dominican has clinched a berth in the conference tournament and with just three regular season matches remaining, ODU will look to finish strong before postseason play.
Ohio Dominican ranks in the top five of the Great Midwest in nearly every statistical category. Offensively, the Panthers lead the conference in shots with 297. ODU ranks in a tie for second in the conference in goals (33), third in assists (23) and second in corners (83). The Panther defensive effort ranks fourth in the conference in goals against average (1.12) and in a tie for third in shutouts (five).
Freshman Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) has been key for the Panthers in the last four matches, scoring or assisting on goals in each contest for ODU. Buck has tallied three goals and two assists in her last four contests and currently leads the team in assists with four on the season.
Senior Lauren Bates (Hilliard, Ohio) ranks second on the squad in scoring with eight goals and boasts five goals and one assist in her last five contests. Bates has scored in back-to-back matches and is second on the team in points with 17 on the year.
About Kentucky Wesleyan
KWC (5-6-1, 5-5-1) sits seventh in the Great Midwest with 16 conference points and earned a 4-0 win over Davis & Elkins in its last match.
The Panthers are 3-0-1 in their last four matches, holding a 9-3 scoring margin over their opponents during the span.
Madisyn Hunt leads the team and ranks in a tie for second in the conference in goals scored with 11 on the year. Hunt also boasts four assists on the season and ranks in a tie for second in the Great Midwest in points (26).
About Trevecca Nazarene
The Trojans (7-4-2, 5-4-2) are currently riding a three-match win streak and will travel to Findlay on Thursday for a Great Midwest match before heading to Columbus on Saturday.
Trevecca ranks fifth in the Great Midwest in goals scored (24) and assists (18).
Courtney Dyer leads TNU in goals scored with four, while Hannah Barney ranks in a tie for first in the conference in assists with eight dimes on the year.
