Four Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes Named To OCSA Academic All-Ohio Teams


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four student-athletes from Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team were named to Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) Academic All-Ohio teams, the OCSA announced Tuesday.

Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio), Lauren Bates (Hilliard, Ohio) and Alli Pavlik (Cortland, Ohio) were named first team honorees, while Jenna Fodor (Hilliard, Ohio) garnered second team honors. The three first team selections were the most of any Division II program.

Wierzbicki is a biology (pre-med) major and holds a 3.97 GPA. Wierzbicki recorded a career-best goals against average of 1.12 this season and anchored a defensive unit that recorded nine shutout victories. She'll enter next season fifth all-time in program history in games started at goalkeeper with 48 starts for her career and needs just seven more wins to eclipse the program record of 32 victories for a Panther keeper, set by Laura Clark between 2011-2014.

Bates and Pavlik earned CoSIDA Academic All-America first team honors and combined for 26 goals, nine game winners and six assists in 2017. Bates is working towards her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at ODU and boasts a 3.98 GPA, while Pavlik is an international business and public relations major who also has accumulated a 3.98 GPA at Ohio Dominican.

Also earning Academic All-Ohio honors was Fodor, who holds a 3.92 GPA while studying criminal justice. Fodor started all 23 matches for the Panthers in 2017 and notched a goal and assist this season.
