Women’s Soccer Signs Eight For 2018

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's women's soccer program signed eight student-athletes as part of its 2018 recruiting class on Wednesday.

"I'm very excited about this signing class because these young women are high character student-athletes who will add to the culture and competitiveness of our program," said Ohio Dominican women's soccer head coach Aimee Haywood. "They are a particularly strong and athletic group and their mentality will bring a new level of competitiveness to our training and game environment."

Ohio Dominican set a program-record for wins in a season with 16 victories in 2017 en route to earning its first NCAA Championship victory.

Hannah Arison | 5-7 | M/F| Physical Therapy | Team Challenger FC | Valley City, Ohio / Holy Name

High School: National Honor Society member…Received First Honors all four years at Holy Name (maintained a 3.6 GPA or higher)…Earned First Team All-Great Lakes Conference honors and was named Second Team All-Greater Cleveland…Scored 11 goals as a sophomore…Favorite high school memory was winning a district championship as a sophomore.

Personal: Daughter of Jim and Michelle Arison…Picked Ohio Dominican because "it felt like a home away from home. The small school atmosphere near a big city was something that I really took a liking to and ODU has a lot to offer academically. I can't wait to be a part of the ODU women's soccer program after its very memorable season last year."

High School: National Honor Society member…Four-year academic and athletic letter winner…First Team All-District…Three-year First Team All-NBC performer…First Team All-County…Two-year Best of Prep honoree…Four-year scholar athlete at Louisville…Recorded 39 goals and 35 assists in her career with four hat tricks…Notched 15 goals, six assists and two hat tricks as a senior…Favorite high school memory is winning the NBC during her junior year…Also played football at Louisville.

Personal: Daughter of Robert and Laurie Baughman…Has one sibling, Rachel, who plays soccer at Akron...Enjoys shopping and hanging out with friends and family…Picked Ohio Dominican "for its beautiful architecture, small campus, and great Exercise Science program. On my first visit with Aimee and the soccer team, they were great hosts and treated me like I was already a Panther."

Katlyn Jamiel | 5-4 | D/M | Dentistry | Ohio Galaxies FC | Wilmington, Ohio / Wilmington

High School: Two-time All-Southwest District performer…First Team All-SBAAC, All-SCOL and All-SWOC…First Team Cincinnati All-Star…Three-time Phi Delta Sigma member… Finished with 21 goals and 27 assists in her career…Notched 14 goals and 13 assists as a senior…Also played basketball at Wilmington…Favorite high school memory is "being able to play my senior year with my sister after fighting back from a previous season ending injury"

Personal: Daughter of Susan and Judah Jamiel…Has two siblings, Marquis Preston and Jasmine Jamiel…Her cousin, Larry Pinkard, played in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars…Enjoys reading, journaling, photography, working out and running…Chose Ohio Dominican because "as I went through the recruiting process, I realized that I wanted to go to a smaller school. The location is within a short distance from home and that was something that was important to me. The coaches and players accepted me and I knew I was going to be a part of a program that takes pride in its academics, as well as its athletics. Being in a competitive environment that Coach Haywood has created excites me to be a Panther."

High School: First Team All-Ohio Capital Conference and Third Team All-Central District as a senior at Hilliard Davidson…Second Team All-Ohio Capital Conference as a junior and sophomore…Also competed in track & field at Davidson…Second Team All-OCC in track & field…2015 OCC champion in the 4x400 meter relay…Favorite high school memory was winning the district championship and playing in a regional semifinal as a senior.

High School: Third Team All-Southwest District and Second Team All-Southwestern Buckeye League as a junior and senior at Valley View High School…Two-time competitor in the Nike College Showcase…Earned the Valley View Spartan Award and Principal's Scholar-Athlete Award all four years…Boasted 17 goals and 10 assists as a senior with a shot percentage of .233…Also participated in track & field, basketball and softball at Valley View…Favorite memory is scoring a header goal to win a match over Dayton Oakwood.

2017 (Chicago State): Started in 19 matches…Led the team in shots (38) and shots on goal (19)…Recorded an assist against Valparaiso (Sept. 28).

2016 (Chicago State): Started at midfielder in 16 matches at Chicago State…Scored a game winning goal against Saint Xavier on August 27…Scored a goal at UIC on September 18…Notched an assist at Texas Rio Grande Valley (Oct. 9).

High School: Four-year varsity letter winner at Edsel Ford High School…Earned All-City and All-District honors as a junior and senior…Team captain and MVP as a senior…Scored 49 goals and tallied 44 assists for her career…Also played basketball at Edsel Ford.
