Women's Soccer Remains on Road in G-MAC Play

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team remains on the road in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action this week as they travel to Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene.

The match-up with KWC is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on Thursday night while the game with Trevecca is set for 1 p.m. CT on Saturday atfernoon.

About Ohio Dominican

The Panthers have recorded shutouts in three of their last four games including a pair a week ago in a 4-0 win over Alderson Broaddus and 3-0 over Davis & Elkins.

ODU is coming into the week with a 8-4-1 record and a 7-3-1 G-MAC record where they officially clinched a spot in the G-MAC Tournament for the second consecutive year. ODU has a 2-2 record on the road so far this season.

Senior Becca Gordon (Johnstown, Ohio) and sophomore Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) each had a pair of goals to lead the Panther offense last week while Gordon added an assist in the match-up with D&E.

Buck is leading the league in game winning goals with four while being third in the league in overall goals with eight. 

Leading the Panther defense a week ago was seniors Lindsey Rentzsch (Dublin, Ohio) and senior goalkeeper Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio). Rentzsch was a key factor in the 3-0 win over D&E as she scored a goal from a corner kick from Gordon and led the back line as D&E did not record a shot until the 70th minute. Wierzbicki recorded five saves over the two games in 147 minute in goal.

About Kentucky Wesleyan 

Kentucky Wesleyan comes into the week 4-8-1 overall record and a 3-7-1 conference record. 

KWC is coming off a pair of shutout losses on the road at Ursuline and Lake Erie a week ago. 

Offensively, KWC is led by Madisyn Hunt who is tied for the top of the league with 10 goals while being third in the league with 21 total points.

Shelby Stearsman will led the Panther defense who has 29 saves in eight games played while only allowing seven goals.

KWC is 3-4 so far this year at home.

About Trevecca Nazarene

Trevecca is coming into the week with a 9-3-2 overall record and a 8-1-2 record in the G-MAC and they come in to the week ranked ninth in the Midwest Regional rankings according to United Soccer Coaches.

Trevecca is coming off a pair of 1-0 wins on the road a week ago over Lake Erie and Ursuline. 

The Trojans are led by Makena Schlosser who has six goals and Claire Brothen and Lidiya Ogorodnik who each have five goals.

Leading the defense for the Trojans is Delayna Holman who has played 13 games allowing 11 goals with 65 saves. 

Although the Trojans are boasting an 8-1 record on the road, they have just a 1-2-2 record at home.

Before ODU travels to Trevecca on Saturday, the Trojans host Cedarville on Thursday.
