Women's Soccer Prepares for G-MAC Quarterfinal at Findlay

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Following a 2-1 double overtime win at Cedarville on Tuesday, Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team travels to Findlay to take on the Oilers in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference quarterfinal match-up with kickoff set for 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets for the match will be $10 for adults and $5 for students at the gate with free entry granted for college students.

About Ohio Dominican

ODU (10-5-1, 9-4-1 G-MAC) comes into the contest winners of four of their last five matches entering the Great Midwest Tournament where they are the fifth seed and boast a 4-3 record on the road. 

The Panthers ended the regular season third in the conference in shots with 275, points with 84, goals with 30 and assists with 24. 

ODU is fourth in the conference scoring 1.88 goals per game. In contrast, the Panther defense is fifth in the conference alowing 0.94 goals per game.

Sophomore forward Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) leads the conference in game-winning goals with six while also being tied for eighth in the country in the same category. Buck led the Panthers offense with 11 goals and five assists on the year which put her in a tie for second in the G-MAC in goals and tied for third in points and assists. 

Senior defender Lindsey Rentzsch (Dublin, Ohio) has played a key role in the Panther offense the second half of the season as she recorded her only two goals of the year in the last quarter of the season. Rentzsch also helped lead the defense to three shutouts in their last seven games. 

Over the last half of the season, senior goalkeeper Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio) has allowed seven goals while making 22 saves with two shutouts.

About Findlay

Findlay (10-3-2, 9-3-2 G-MAC) comes into the tournament as the fourth seed and come into the match-up 3-3 in their last six games wile notching a 5-2-1 home record on the season.

Earlier in the season, the Panthers dropped the contest at Findlay by a score of 2-1. 

The Oilers defense come into the contest third in the conference in goals allowed per game at 0.80. The Oiler offense finished the regular season fifth in the conference in goals per game with 1.73

Megan Kupetz and Shannon Marsh lead the Oiler offense with seven and six goals, respectively while Anna Money leads the Oiler defense allowing just 12 goals and making 57 saves on the year. 

Scouting the G-MAC Tournament Field

Ohio Valley comes into the tournament as the top seed and will earn the right to host the semifinals and championships with a win over eighth-seeded Ursuline. ODU dropped a 2-0 matchup earlier in the season at Ohio Valley and defeated Ursuline by a score of 3-2 in overtime at home. 

ODU would face the winner of the OVU/Ursuline matchup that will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. 

No. 2 seed Trevecca Nazarene plays host to No. 7 seed Davis & Elkins on Saturday with the winner of that contest playing the winner of the No. 3 seeded Walsh and No. 6 seeded Cedarville. The Panthers dropped both matchups with Trevecca in the regular season while defeating D&E 3-0 on the road. In the single matchup with Walsh this season, ODU defeated the Cavaliers 1-0 at home all the way back on September 6. The matchups with Cedarville saw the Panthers win each game by a goal apiece.
