Women's Soccer Inks 2019 Recruiting Class

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's soccer program announced the signing of the 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday.

"We're excited to add another strong class to our program," head coach Aimee Haywood said. "First and foremost, they bring strong academic credentials to Ohio Dominican. They will be ready to contribute immediately to the competitiveness of our program and fit in well with our team culture. We are bringing in some of the top players not just in the Columbus area but in the entire state of Ohio, and we are excited to have them in our program for the next four years."

Ohio Dominican posted a 10-6-1 record this past fall while being 9-4-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Emily Wittekind | 5-4 | F/M | Exercise Science | Ohio Elite | Cincinnati, Ohio / Mount Notre Dame

High School: Two time Second Team All-Star GGCL...All-Southwest Academic Award Recipient…Team Offensive Player of the Year…Senior year team captain…Favorite high school memory was winning the league senior year while being the leader as a captain.

Personal: Is the daughter of David and Lynn Wittekind…Has one sibling, Madison…Chose Ohio Dominican because "The team and coaching staff was very welcoming, and it seemed like a competitive environment. When I toured I was able to see myself going to school there."

High School: Four year Varsity letter winner…Four year scholar athlete…National Honors Society member…On Honor Roll all four years…Her favorite high school memory was winning districts in 2017.

Personal: Is the daughter of Jim and Rochelle McKean…Has two siblings, James and Tyler…Chose Ohio Dominican because "The feel of the campus size and proximity met my original search for a college and then the tour of the campus with the soccer coach and visit to the locker room made me feel home."

High School: Was a three year Varsity letter winner…Member of National Honor Society…Was on the Honor Roll all four years…Her favorite high school memory was making it to the final four her sophomore year.

Personal: Is the daughter of Brian and Dawn Greer…Has one sibling, Morgan, who plays soccer at Bellarmine…Chose Ohio Dominican because "When I toured it felt like a perfect fit. They have great academics and I loved the campus. Also, after meeting the soccer team I knew it would be a great school to study at and play for!"

High School: Was a four year letter winner…Was an All-Ohio team honoree…Runner up District Player of the Year…Academic award for GPA greater than 3.7…Her favorite memory was with her club team when they won regionals and made it to nationals in 2016 because she was able to play alongside her sister.

Personal: Is the daughter of Bill Story and Jennifer Darnell…Has one sibling, Cheyenne, who is entering her senior year here at ODU…Chose Ohio Dominican because "Everyone on campus was very welcoming and the location of the school was a big deal too and also the ability to play collegiate soccer at a top program."

High School: Was First Team CCL…All-Central District…Honor Roll member…Her favorite high school memory was beating Bloom Carroll in the final minutes to advance to the district semi-finals.

Also, she scored the game-winning goal against one of the top teams in the district her sophomore year.
