Panther Women Win Finale at Panther Courts

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican women's tennis team finished their home schedule with a 6-3 win over visiting West Liberty State University. ODU claimed 2-of-3 doubles point on their way to much needed non-conference spring win.

The Panthers successfully took two doubles courts to start the match, gaining momentum on courts one and two, before dropping a tight match on court three, 9-8. Earning doubles points was Sofia Espana-Perez (Fr./Mexico City, Mexico) and Aline Mariano (So./Sao Paulo, Brazil) on court one, 8-4, and Mari Monaco (Jr./Port Clinton, OH) and Krista Derry (So./Baltimore, OH) on court two, 8-0.

ODU continued strong play in singles action, winning 4-of-6 courts for the non-conference spring win. Earning singles points for the Panthers was Espana-Perez on court one, 6-4, 6-1, and Derry on court three, 6-0, 6-3. Monaco and April Zaborsky (So./Dublin, OH) finished off the scoring for the hosts, winning 6-2, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively.

Ohio Dominican will return to action on Friday, April 15th as they travel to Marion, Indiana to play in the Mark Richards Memorial Classic, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
