Panthers Team Effort Leads to 5-4 Win over Tiffin

The Ohio Dominican women's tennis team battled Tiffin University to a 5-4 win at Panther Courts on Friday afternoon.

The Panthers found early success on 2-of-3 doubles courts, winning 2-of-3 points to take the early advantage. Gabriela Bowe (Fr./Freeport, Bahamas) and Carla Leggett (Jr./Madird, Spain) earned their first win of the season with an 8-4 win on court one. Anita Girizd (Sr./Ada, Serbia) and Ana Pico (A Corona, Spain) closed out a tough 8-6 win on court three, their 7th win of the season.

In singles play, ODU continued to respond, winning 3-of-6 courts to earn the GLIAC win. Alejandra Gonzalez (So./Caracas, Venezuela) was first off for the Panthers, winning on court five, 6-2, 6-2. Bowe gave Ohio Dominican a 4-1 lead with a strong 6-1, 6-0 win on court four. Pico clinched the match for the Black and Gold, winning 6-4, 6-3 at #3 singles.

The Panthers return to action on Sunday at Panthers courts as they welcome the University of Findlay. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
