ODU Closes Spring Slate at Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's runners closed out the spring season by competing in the Kenyon Spring Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Meghan Willeke (Lexington, Ohio) led the women's squad with a sixth place finish in the 5000 meter run with a time of 20:33.51 and was followed by freshman Mallory Kitts (Springfield, Ohio) in 10th place with a mark of 21:18.68. Senior Elise Wyant (Chillicothe, Ohio) and freshman Bethany Molnar (Shreve, Ohio) participated in the 800 meter run and freshman Michelle McKean (Pataskala, Ohio) ran the 1500 meter as well for the Panthers.

On the men's side, junior Brian Litt (Mansfield, Ohio) led the way with a fourth-place effort in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 10:56.6. Litt and freshman Chris Liebold (Green Springs, Ohio) both participated in the 800 meter run, and Liebold also ran in the 1500 meter.

Ohio Dominican will now look forward to competing in a full track and field schedule for the 2011-12 school year as the sport gains varsity status for the first time in school history.
