WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Ohio Dominican's baseball team split a Friday doubleheader with Wayne State (Neb.), winning 4-2 in the opener before falling by the same 4-2 score in the nightcap.
The Panthers now stand at 9-5 on the spring, while the Wildcats are 6-7.
ODU pounded out 10 hits in the opener to back a solid effort from sophomore Ryan Colegate, who allowed just four hits and two unearned runs in six innings to pick up the win.
Rudolph went 3-for-4 in the win, while senior Jossue Delgado also had two hits.
In the second game, the Panthers jumped to the 2-0 lead only to see it slip away in the sixth. Delgado homered and senior Phil Jaskot had an RBI as well, but the Wildcats rallied with three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to take the win.
Junior Ryan Bidwell was the tough luck loser, allowing just two earned runs in six innings of work, and held Wayne State to just five hits while striking out eight.
Delgado had two hits to pace the offense as well.
Ohio Dominican concludes it spring trip with a 9:30 a.m. contest Saturday with Seton Hill.
