Baseball Falls 6-2 To Glenville State

WILSON, N.C. – Ohio Dominican's baseball team stranded 12 runners – 11 through the first five innings – in a 6-2 setback to Glenville State on Monday.

The Panthers finished with eight hits and drew six walks, but could plate just two runs in the eighth inning in the loss.

ODU fell behind 6-0 through the first two innings, but junior Danny Matic (Highland Heights, Ohio) kept the Panthers in the game. He worked the final 6.0 innings, allowing just four hits while striking out three.

Senior Noah Bland (Oberlin, Ohio) went 2-for-4 and knocked in both of ODU's runs with a double in the eighth. Junior Joey Machuga (Canfield, Ohio) went 2-for-4, senior Chris Sackett (Loveland, Ohio) had two hits and freshman Michael Lang (Cincinnati, Ohio) made his first start and had a hit while walking twice.

Ohio Dominican finishes its spring trip with an 11 a.m. contest Tuesday against Cal (Pa.).
