COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team dropped a GLIAC matchup against No. 2 Saginaw Valley on Sunday by a final score of 4-1.
With the loss, the Panthers fall to 7-7-0 overall (5-6-0 GLIAC). SVSU improves to 11-1-2 overall (8-1-2) with the win.
In a match which turned out to be physical, five yellow cards given out, the Panthers were unable to many of their shots on target, limiting their scoring chances. ODU ended the match with 11 total shots, and three coming on net.
The Cardinals used a strong first half to gain control of the match, scoring three times in the first 45 minute period. SVSU held a 13-2 advantage in shots in the first half.
After allowing a fourth Cardinal goal in the 69th minute, the Panthers were able to find the back of the net as sophomore Tanner Ebright (Pickerington, OH) scored on a shot from the right side of the box off a pass from senior Jakob Szabo (Worthington, OH).
Overall, there were 29 fouls issued to go along with the five yellow cards. The Cardinals recorded four cards and 18 fouls, while the Panthers had one card and 11 fouls.
ODU will look to get back on track next weekend as they travel to Malone and Walsh. The Panthers will be at Malone at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
