COLUMBUS, Ohio — Great Midwest Athletic Conference play continues for Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team this week, as the Panthers travel to Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins for road matches with half of the 2017 regular season completed.
ODU faces Alderson Broaddus on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and will take on Davis & Elkins for the second time this season, Saturday at 4 p.m.
About Ohio Dominican
The Panthers (2-6, 1-5 G-MAC) fell to Cedarville in a closely-contested, 3-2 match on Thursday night and came up short at No. 18 Ohio Valley, 5-2 on Saturday.
Junior Jonathan Barnes (Winter Haven, Florida) scored all four goals last week for the Panthers and has found the back of the net five times on the season, tied for third-best in the Great Midwest. Ohio Dominican boasts the fifth-highest scoring average in the conference at 1.75 goals per match with 12 assists, third-highest in the Great Midwest.
About Alderson Broaddus
The Battlers (3-4-2, 2-1-2 G-MAC) fell at No. 1 Charleston, 3-0 on Saturday and were defeated 2-1 by Lake Erie Thursday.
Alderson Broaddus ranks ninth in the Great Midwest in goals scored (1.25) but is third in the conference in goals against average (1.00).
Ashley Sibisi leads AB with three goals and two assists for eight points.
About Davis & Elkins
The Senators (5-1-1, 4-0-1 G-MAC) defeated Lake Erie 5-0 on Saturday and will face Ohio Dominican for the second time on Saturday.
D&E came away with a 1-0 win over ODU on Tuesday, September 19 and currently sits third in the Great Midwest standings, leading the conference in goals per match (2.57) and ranking second in goals against average (.57).
Tim Staerz leads the Great Midwest in points (14), scoring the game winning goal against ODU last week.
