Men's Soccer Continues G-MAC Play This Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team continues their Great Midwest Athletic Conference play this week with matchups at Findlay on Thursday and hosting Tiffin on Saturday afternoon. 

The contest with Findlay is set for 4 p.m. at DeHaven Field while the match with Tiffin will kickoff at 2:30 Panther Stadium.

About Ohio Dominican

The Panthers come into the week with a 3-4 overall record while being an even 2-2 in the G-MAC. So far on the year, the Panthers have boasted a 2-1 record on the road while outscoring its opponents 5-2 in those three games.

The ODU offense is led by senior forward Jonathan Barnes (Winter Haven, Fla.) who has posted three goals which ties him for 10th in the conference along with two assists so far on the year. Freshman midfielder Tyler Arnold (Westerville, Ohio) is also second in the conference with 25 shots while having two goals. Senior Ryan Kasprzak (Hilliard, Ohio) and River Allbaugh (Pickerington, Ohio) also each have two goals in their 2018 campaign. 

The Panther defense is led by senior goalkeepr Alec Mathew (Pataskala, Ohio) who has started the last four games playing all 90 minutes in goal in each game. Mathew has boasted 15 saves in those four games while also recording two shutouts.

About Findlay

Findlay comes into the matchup on Thursday with a 2-4 overall record and a 2-1 conference record. This will be Findlay's home opener in the 2018 season. 

The Oilers come into Thursday after a 2-1 loss in their previous game at Trevecca on Saturday. 

Findlay is led offensively by a pair of freshman in Joey Buscani and Taylor Miles who each have two goals so far on the season.

Defensively, the Oilers are led by senior goalkeeper Nathan Sier who has started five of six games while recording 19 saves and allowing 11 goals.

A year ago, the Panthers and Oilers split the season series as they each won on the road.

About Tiffin

Tiffin comes into the week with a 5-2 record overall while being 3-1 in the conference while being ranked eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Midwest Regional poll. The Dragons have a 2-2 record on the road so far in their 2018 campaign while outscoring their opponents 8-5.

The Dragon offense will be led by Abdoul Magid sy who leads the conference with nine goals through seven games while the defense is led freshman goalkeeper Dylan Morris who has 15 saves and two shutouts while allowing just 1.12 goals per game.

Before coming to Columbus on Saturday, the Dragons will host Cedarville on Thursday at 4 p.m.
