Hinton and Stanzel Named GLIAC Player and Pitcher of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich. – Ohio Dominican freshman Allie Hinton (Newcomerstown, Ohio) and junior Rachael Stanzel (Angleton, Texas) were selected as the GLIAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively.

Hinton led the Panthers to an undefeated four win weekend against conference opponents Findlay and Hillsdale. She averaged .500, scoring two runs as well as driving in five. The second baseman had seven hits on the weekend which included one homerun and a walk. She ranks first in hits in the conference with 11, second in doubles (3), fifth in RBI (6) and sixth in batting average (.524).

Stanzel led the Panthers to two conference victories against the University of Findlay (4-2) and Hillsdale College (11-2) over the weekend. Stanzel pitched 14 innings in two outings, where she gave up 11 hits with six strikeouts on the weekend with an ERA of 1.50. Stanzel also delivered a single against Hillsdale.
