COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's softball team travels into #20 UIndy for a nonconference doubleheader on Wednesday before traveling to play at Ohio Valley on Saturday.
The Panthers are riding a 13-game win streak and are 21-13 overall and 12-0 in the G-MAC heading into this week's slate of games. The games with UIndy are scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m. while the games Saturday with the Scots are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.
Taylor Farmer (Mt. Blanchard, Ohio) was named the G-MAC player of the week this past week as she led the offense hitting .583 with three homeruns in four games last week that was highlighted by a 3-for-3 effort with two home runs in the game two win over Davis & Elkins. Farmer had six RBI's and an on base percentage of .643 with a slugging percentage of 1.417.
Over the last eight games, the Panthers have hit .380 as a team with 12 home runs and 48 runs scored led by senior Kelly Mix (Baltimore, Ohio) hitting .560 with nine RBI's. Sophomore Carson Hackerd (Frankfort, Indiana) is hitting .500 in that stretch recording 14 hits and six runs scored.
Cameron Barber (Powell, Ohio) has hit .458 in that stretch with eight RBI's and was also 4-0 in the circle with an ERA of 2.91 recording a stellar 18 strikeouts to just one walk in her four appearances. Also in the circle, freshman Sydney Long (Ashland, Ohio) has recorded a 2.76 ERA with 20 strikeouts while being 3-0 with a save in her five appearances the last eight games.
The Panthers will look to avenge an early season loss to the Greyhounds before looking to stay atop the G-MAC standings Saturday against Ohio Valley.
