INDIANAPOLIS — Four Ohio Dominican indoor track & field student-athletes were named to All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference indoor teams after their respective finishes at the Great Midwest Indoor Championships on February 23 & 24, the conference announced early this week.
Sophomore Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio) earned women's all-conference second team honors, while sophomore Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio), junior Bobby Bogantz (Sunbury, Ohio) and seniors Avery Sumpter (Lima, Ohio) and Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) were named to the men's all-conference third team.
Tamasovich was named second team in the women's high jump after breaking the ODU women's indoor school record in the event on numerous occasions this indoor season and finishing with a top mark of 1.67 meters to place second at the Great Midwest Indoor Championships.
Bass, Bogantz, Sumpter and Carroll were named third team all-conference in the men's 4x400 meter relay after notching a third place finish at the Great Midwest Championships with a mark of 3:24.83, the second-fastest time in the event for the Panthers this indoor season.
Both the ODU men's and women's teams earned top 10 team finishes at the G-MAC Championships and the Panthers saw eight indoor school records fall this season.
ODU track & field begins the 2018 outdoor season this weekend with the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, which will span Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24 at Muskingum University.
