COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's track and field team will travel to New Concord, Ohio to the campus of Muskingum University this weekend for the 2018 Amy Adams Memorial Invitational on Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24.
The men's and women's hammer and javelin throws will be held on Friday starting at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's pole vault, and running events will start at 11 a.m. with the women's 10k.
The meet marks the first outdoor competition of 2018 for ODU track and field, and overall the squad is scheduled to compete in nine outdoor meets this spring.
Ohio Dominican is coming off a successful indoor season that saw a total of eight ODU men's and women's indoor track and field records set, along with 38 top five individual finishes. As a team, the Panthers have placed in the top five on five occasions in 2017-18.
The Panthers finished the indoor season at the Great Midwest Indoor Championships, where Sophomore Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio) and the men's 4x400 meter relay team of Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio), Avery Sumpter (Lima, Ohio), Bobby Bogantz(Sunbury, Ohio) and Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) notched podium finishes. Tamasovich finished in second place in the women's high jump with a school record and NCAA Division II provisional mark of 1.67 meters. The men's 4x400 meter relay finished third with a time of 3:24.83.
Following competition at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, the Panthers will compete in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open in Cedarville on Saturday, March 31.
