CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Ohio Dominican women's golf juniors Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) and Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio) were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar list.
The WGCA announced 1,097 women's collegiate golfers across all divisions for this honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as the minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 to qualify.
The Panther pair are just two of 13 G-MAC student-athletes to earn the recognition.
Romine is a Biology major with a 3.79 GPA and played in all 10 tournaments playing 21 total rounds for the Panthers her junior season. She had an 83.0 scoring average and had a top-10 finish at the G-MAC Championships. This is her third consecutive year being tabbed an Academic All-American by the WGCA.
Swensen has a 3.59 GPA in Exercise Science and earned All-Great Midwest honors for the second consecutive year where she played in 10 tournaments totaling 21 rounds. The Milford, Ohio native sees her name on the list for the second consecutive year. She set a new school record in the first round of the NC4K Classic posting a two under par 70 where she had her best finish of the season tying for sixth.
