Road Swing Continues For Women’s Soccer With Matches At Alderson Broaddus, Davis & Elkins

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team will continue Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on the road this week with matches at Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins.

ODU will face Alderson Broaddus on Thursday at 5 p.m. before taking on Davis & Elkins on Saturday at 12 p.m.

About Ohio Dominican

The Panthers (6-3, 4-1 G-MAC) defeated Cedarville by a final score of 3-1 on Thursday night before falling at Ohio Valley on Saturday.

With half of the regular season in the books for ODU, the team currently sits third in the conference with 12 points and has won four of its last five contests overall.

Ohio Dominican ranks fourth in the Great Midwest in scoring average (2.11) and goals against average (1.11). The Panthers' four-match winning streak between September 10-21 was the longest for the squad since 2014 and ODU scored 15 goals during the streak.

Senior forward Alli Pavlik (Cortland, Ohio) leads the team and ranks third in the Great Midwest in goals scored with eight on the season, leading the conference in game winning goals with five. Senior Lauren Bates (Hilliard, Ohio) has found the back of the net three times this year and ranks second on the team in scoring. Junior Allie Atkinson (Ontario, Ohio) boasts two goals and two assists through nine matches for the Panthers.

Junior keeper Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio) has notched 28 saves and six wins while ranking fourth in the conference in goals against average (1.23).

About Alderson Broaddus

The Battlers (0-5-2, 0-3-2 G-MAC) fell 5-0 to Ursuline and 2-0 to Lake Erie last week.

Shelby Riddle and Rachel Gaspar have both found the back of the net for AB this season.

The Panthers hold a 3-0-0 advantage over Alderson Broaddus in the all-time series between the two teams.

After facing ODU, the Battlers will travel to Findlay to face the Oilers on Saturday at 1 p.m.

About Davis & Elkins

The Senators (0-5-2, 0-3-2 G-MAC) narrowly fell to Findlay, 1-0 while also losing 2-0 at Ursuline last week.

D&E ranks fifth in the Great Midwest in goals against average at 1.43.

Goalkeepers Samantha Wehri and Lauren Hill have recorded a combined 52 saves for the Senators.

Saturday's contest between ODU and D&E marks the first meeting between the two teams.
