COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team dropped a Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup with Trevecca Nazarene by a final score of 2-1 Thursday night at Panther Stadium.

The loss drops the Panthers to 5-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference while Trevecca advances to 6-2-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the G-MAC.

The Trojans got the scoring started in the 24th minute as Lexie Hayes receieved a cross and found the back of the net to put Trevecca 1-0 where the score would be through the first 45 minutes.

ODU outshot the Trojans 9-5 in the first half with three shots on goal while Trevecca had two shots on goal.

Trevecca extended their lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute on a breakaway and the Trevecca defense held the Panther offense under wraps until the 90th minute.

Sophomore Ci'ara Crosby (Ashland, Ohio) was fouled in the box and converted on a penalty kick which mad the score 2-1 to finish the game.

Sophomore Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and junior Becca Gordon (Johnstown, Ohio) led the Panthers with five shots apiece while freshman Hannah Knobloch (Hilliard, Ohio) had four.

Senior goalkeeper Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio) faced seven shots with five saves in all 90 minutes between the posts for the Panther defense.

ODU will turn their attention to Cedarville as they host the Yellow Jackets Saturday night with kickoff set for 8 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
