COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team defeated Alderson Broaddus 4-0 on senior night Thursday at Panther Stadium in a G-MAC contest.
With the win, the Panthers advance to 7-4-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the conference while AB drops to 1-13 overall and 1-11 in the conference.
The first half saw the ODU offense outshoot the Battlers 11-2 while converting twice along with having a 4-0 advantage on corner kicks.
In the 11th minute, sophomore Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) got the scoring started for the Panther offense as she had her initial shot hit off the crossbar, pop up in the air and converted on her header attempt after for her seventh goal of the year.
Just before half in the 40th minute, senior Anita Ferguson (Columbus, Ohio) notched her first goal of the year on a through ball from freshman Mari Silvestri (Solon, Ohio) to put the Panthers up 2-0 going into the half.
It did not take long for the Panthers to advance the lead to 3-0 after half as Buck found the back of the net for her second goal of the game and eighth of the year off a through ball from Ferguson in the 50th minute.
Just five minutes later, senior Susan D'Isidoro (Twinsburg, Ohio) was fouled in the box and converted on her penalty kick opportunity in the 55th minute to put the Panthers up 4-0 where the game would end.
The Panther offense outshot the Battlers 23-4 in the contest and had a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks.
Senior goalkeepers Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio) and Chelcey Tusing (Hopewell, Ohio) combined for the shutout making three total saves. Wierzbicki notched 56 minutes between the posts with one save while Tusing had 34 minutes with two saves.
The Panthers look to capitalize on their win as they head to Davis & Elkins on Saturday, October 13 with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. at Nuttall Field.
