Ohio Dominican Discontinues Tennis Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican University will discontinue its varsity men's and women's tennis programs at the conclusion of the 2014-15 academic year.

The teams will compete through the conclusion of the current season, and the University will honor the financial aid packages for all tennis players who wish to remain at ODU. Under NCAA rules, if any of these student-athletes wish to transfer, they will be granted a full release at this time.

The difficult decision to discontinue the program was driven by budget considerations. The University must reach a level of financial equilibrium between the size of our intercollegiate athletic program and the University operating budget.

With this action, the total number of varsity teams that Ohio Dominican sponsors will be reduced from 18 to 16.
