Volleyball Remains At Home Against G-MAC West Division Foes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team continues its lengthy home stand with matches against Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene this weekend in Alumni Hall.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. Friday against Kentucky Wesleyan, while ODU will match up with Trevecca at 1 p.m. Saturday in G-MAC action. This is the midway point of seven straight matches at home for the Panthers.

ODU split a pair of matches last weekend, defeating Ursuline in four sets on Friday night before falling in three frames to Lake Erie.

The Panthers (2-11, 1-4 G-MAC) hit a season-best .202 against the Arrows, racking up 53 kills against just 20 errors in the victory. ODU also had a season-high 48 assists and 8.5 blocks, and the 62 digs were the second most for the team this fall.

There were 36 ties and 18 lead changes in that contest, with junior Ciara Ralston (Findlay, Ohio) leading the Panthers with 12 kills. Four other players had at least eight kills as ODU limited the Arrows to a .111 hitting percentage, the second lowest percentage an opponent has hit against the Panthers in 2017.

Junior Anna Ficker (Cincinnati, Ohio) sits fourth in the conference with 4.5 digs per set, while freshman Ashton Barr (New Castle, Ind.) ranks eighth in assists (6.4 per set).

Ralston paces the team with 88 kills, while freshman Alyssa Hoyng (Celina, Ohio) has 77 kills. Junior Patricia Barreto (Findlay, Ohio) leads the team with 28 blocks while Hoyng has 25.

Kentucky Wesleyan enters the weekend with a 5-11 record overall (1-4 G-MAC), while Trevecca is 3-11 (0-5 G-MAC).
