Volleyball Falls In Four Close Sets At Ohio Valley

VIENNA, W.Va. — Ohio Dominican's volleyball team fell 3-1 in four, closely-contested sets to Ohio Valley on Friday night in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest.

After trailing dropping the each of the first two sets by scores of 25-20, ODU rallied to win the third set by a final mark of 25-18. Leading 23-18 in the third set, junior Kelly Nadler (Leipsic, Ohio) notched a kill to push the Panther lead to 24-18, then sophomore Bailey Line (Westerville, Ohio) took set point with a service ace to cut Ohio Dominican's deficit to 2-1 for the match.

The Panthers led 21-19 in the fourth set, but Ohio Valley surged ahead to take the set 25-21 and match, 3-1.

Leading the way for ODU was junior Rebecca Skidmore (Westerville, Ohio), who recorded a season-high 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .269, also notching four blocks and three digs. Freshman Alyssa Hoyng (Celina, Ohio) notched 11 kills, marking her second-straight match with double-figures in kills. Freshman Ashton Barr (New Castle, Indiana) finished with a team-high 16 assists and a .500 hitting percentage for the Panthers.

ODU wraps up its West Virginia road trip on Saturday with an 11 a.m. match at Alderson Broaddus.
