Volleyball Earns Tenth Straight AVCA Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year, the tenth straight year the program has garnered the honor.

The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintained at least a cumulative 3.30 team GPA during the school year. ODU was one of just three G-MAC schools to earn the award.

The Panthers had five student-athletes earn Academic All-Great Midwest honors for the 2017-18 academic year, which is awarded to individuals who have a cumulative 3.30 GPA or above, have reached at least sophomore athletic and academic standing, and have been enrolled in the institution for at least one year. Picking up that accolade were rising seniors Patricia Barreto (Findlay, Ohio), Anna Ficker (Cincinnati, Ohio), Jordan Jaeckin (Olmsted Falls, Ohio), Kelly Nadler (Leipsic, Ohio) and Rebecca Skidmore (Westerville, Ohio).

Ohio Dominican begins its season at the Southern Indiana Double Tree Invitational with four matches, starting on Friday, Aug. 24 with a 9 a.m. match against Edinboro and a 2 p.m. match against Southern Indiana.
