Volleyball Finishes Road Trip At Davis & Elkins

ELKINS, W. Va. – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Davis & Elkins to conclude its first weekend of G-MAC play on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers fell by scores of 24-26, 19-25 and 15-25 in suffering the setback, despite 15 kills by freshman Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio).

Sophomore Ashton Barr (New Castle, Ind.) tallied 25 assists and classmate Alexis Young (Gahanna, Ohio) added 15 digs to lead ODU.

The Panthers (2-9, 0-3 G-MAC) had an 18-14 lead in the first set on kills by Young and Remmetter before faltering late, then started the second set on an 8-1 run before dropping it. ODU then held an 11-7 lead in the third frame and trailed just 16-15 before D&E closed the match with nine straight points.

Senior Rebecca Skidmore (Westerville, Ohio) hit .500 and tallied six kills to also lead the Panthers.

ODU concludes its road trip with a 7 p.m. match Tuesday at Findlay.
