Volleyball Suffers Setback To Tiffin

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) recorded 15 kills and sophomore Alexis Young (Gahanna, Ohio) added 10 as Ohio Dominican's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 18-25, 14-25) decision to visiting Tiffin Friday night.

It's the fourth time this fall that Remmetter has recorded 15 or more terminations, while Young has been in double figures in kills in three straight matches.

Freshmen Zoë Carmichael (Wooster, Ohio) and Tate Rybarczyk (Avon Lake, Ohio) each recorded 11 digs while sophomore Ashton Barr (New Castle, Ind.) led all players with 31 assists. Junior Allie Rutter (Fostoria, Ohio) chipped in with six kills, a season-best, along with seven digs. Carmichael's 11 digs were also a season-high.

ODU hung close in the second set, with two kills by Remmetter and one by Young brought the Panthers within 12-10. ODU stayed within 20-16 after a Tiffin error, but the Dragons pulled away down the stretch.

The Panthers tallied 37 kills in the match, but committed 21 errors for .143 hitting percentage, while Tiffin (12-3, 7-0 G-MAC) swung at a .394 clip with 45 kills and just six errors.

Ohio Dominican (2-13, 0-7 G-MAC) remains at home with a 1 p.m. match Saturday against Cedarville.
